The Daisy House - A Story Behind the Name

So. . . The question is "Why is your house "The Daisy House?"

It is a good question! Why, you ask again?

Because of the fact that I would like to fill you in! Here's the downlow.

All three of us Catholic SINGLE girls have been reading up on a much beloved saint, St. Therese of the Little Flower. Her autobiography, "Story of a Soul" is wonderful. I used to think that it would be very hard to read because she is a saint and therefore would have big words like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas (who are also great to read but it takes brainpower).

anyhoo, after 24 years of waiting around, I decided to read it. It is wonderfully simplistic (as that is what the saint is known for) and easy to read. I recommend it.

In the first chapter of the book, Therese talks about how God created a living garden in the world of souls. She says that "every flower He has created has a beauty of its own, " and that we cannot all be as splendid as roses or as white as lilies. Some of us must be little flowers, content to nestle at His feet and delight His eyes. Some of these are little flowers like daisies.

So, as our goal in the season of making it happen (take a look at Kristi's blog) we want to "nestle at His feet and delight in His eyes." We are not saints, but we will strive!!
